MOCT attended Reception of National Day of Islamic Republic of Iran hosted by Iran’s Embassy, Japan (Imperial Hotel, Minato-ku Tokyo, 45th Anniversary of Victory of Islamic Revolution).

“10th Hiroshima-Iran Love & Peace Film Festival 2023” was held at Yokogawa Cinema (Hiroshima city). Back in February for selecting the films, it was the first visit to Iran since COVID-19 outbreak. Moreover, film directors and actors came to Hiroshima and made teach-ins. “Yadoo” “Walnuts Tree” “Miracle of Bona san (remake ver.)” as first screenings in Japan and 3 more films were screened. Venue was fully packed at the opening ceremony. August 9, “Miracle of Bona san” was screened at Iranian embassy in Tokyo sponsored by the embassy inviting ambassadors and others. Chair Shizuko Tsuya received Certificate of Appreciation from Iran honoring the consecutive host of the film festival in Hiroshima. https://moct.jp/en/medicalsupport/

“9th Hiroshima-Iran Love & Peace Film Festival 2022” was held at Yokogawa Cinema (Hiroshima city). Documentary “Adamiani” focused on Georgian issues and human drama about Japanese sake brewing in a well-known place, Hiroshima “Ginzuru mono tachi” were screend as well. Film director and the production company CEO came for the teach-in. Many fans came to see them.

“8th Hiroshima-Iran Love & Peace Film Festival 2021” was held at Yokogawa Cinema (Hiroshima city). Iran’s 5 films (incl. new film “Legend of Bonasan) and Anime “Junod” were screened. Film-related people could not make it to Hiroshima from Tehran this year, either. Therefore Film Company CEO came from Tokyo and gave a speech on the opening day. Ultimately film lovers came to see as usual. Festival drew to a successful close instead of the COVID-19 situation.

“7th Hiroshima-Iran Love & Peace Film Festival 2020” was held at Yokogawa Cinema (Hiroshima city). Under the difficult circumstances, a selection of 6 memorable Iran’s films and Japanese Anime “Junod” which had been screened, were screened at this time. (incl 3-English-sub films) Iranian actors, directors, and chemical weapon survivors during Iran-Iraq War, for whom we support as an overseas medical activity, could not make it to Hiroshima this year. Therefore the video messages from Iranian actor, etc and a brandnew film’s preview were introduced before the screening. Thankfully film lovers came to see as usual. Film Festival ended up peacefully.
